The best reason for procrastination

I just heard one of the best reasons for procrastination. It is not fear of beginning, fear of failure, etc

No. No of these common reasons.

We procrastinate because it is just boring not to. You might say. Yeah, duh. No brainer there.

But hear me out. We are all junkies of the dopamine hit. Think about it: we're all chasing that dopamine rush, that exhilarating feeling that comes with accomplishing tasks at the last possible moment.

We are after that feeling.

I remember that feeling when I crammed at the last hour or minutes for my exam. Or when I submitted a bid at the last minute of the deadline. It was a great feeling of triumph. A proof beyond doubt that I was smarter than all the suckers studying in the library all the time. Even bettr, I did the same or better than just by studying last minute.

On the other hand, preparation ahead of time does not give that feeling. It lacks that same adrenaline rush. It's mundane, almost monotonous. It is boring as hell.

Sticking to schedule is gruesome.

Hence, my new finding. Procrastination is not just because of fear, or laziness. It's about seeking that addictive burst of dopamine that comes with last-minute accomplishments. Procrastination is right on the same allay as other addictions in our society. The addiction just happens to be invisible.
